Inclusion and diversity in school libraries

A project to make school libraries an environment  to boost up skills in people with disabilities.

BYBLIOS is a 24-month Cooperation Partnership project funded by the Erasmus+ KA2 programme. It involves 6 partners from 5 European countries.

Why libraries?

Libraries are fundamental community hubs. They are often the only public open structure always present even in small villages. They have the potential to become spaces for inclusion and career development for young people with disabilities.

What do we plan to achieve?

A RESEARCH

We plan to develop a participatory action research to reflect on the future of libraries and the needs of librarians.

AN IMPLEMENTATION GUIDE

We will develop and pilot a protocol for inclusion of people with disabilities as workers in libraries.

A TRAINING

We will create a training for librarians to equip them with the skills to support the career development of people with disabilities.

"It is an adventure for improving the life of young adults with disability while transforming local libraries into spaces for career development”

— Laura Caronna, project designer
