International School Library Month

October is International School Library Month (ISLM), an annual celebration of school libraries around the world, an opportunity to publicise their work and show that they are not just a service, but a vital nerve centre in schools. The call to action comes from the IASL (International Association of School Librarianship).

In Portugal, School Library Day falls on the fourth Monday in October, in 2024 on 28/10.

The motto for this year is already out - School Libraries: connecting communities! -
